SpaceX's Starship, SN8, has finally attempted its 12.5km test flight

[Highlights video]

The rocket successfully launched, ascended, 'belly-flopped', descended and maneuvered for landing before rapidly disassembling (exploding) on the landing pad. Even though it did not stick the landing, the test itself was deemed a huge success and we look forward to upcoming flights of future Starships.

"Successful ascent, switchover to header tanks & precise flap control to landing point!"

"Fuel header tank pressure was low during landing burn, causing touchdown velocity to be high & RUD, but we got all the data we needed! Congrats SpaceX team hell yeah!!"
